For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, (Romans 1:16)
Believing in the existence of God has nothing to do with true saving faith. For example, when you look at one of my drawings, you don’t believe there was an artist. You know there was an artist because drawings don’t draw themselves. So, when you look around at creation, you see the sky, clouds, a sunrise, trees, flowers, birds, caterpillars and butterflies, the moon and the stars, and snowflakes, miraculous and beautiful creations everywhere you look - all these things clearly show us there was a Creator, an Intelligent Designer. So, when we speak about faith in God, we are not talking about believing in His existence. It’s plain and obvious God exists when we look around us. We know God exists. Rather, believing in God is talking about trusting in God’s integrity, authority, and goodness for our lives, the way we put our trust in a parachute, a pilot, or a surgeon to help us, protect us, or keep us alive. – Notes inspired by Ray Comfort, LivingWaters.com
The gospel is so simple that a child can understand it and so profound that it will take all eternity to fully comprehend it in all its glory. By God’s grace, when someone comes to saving faith in Jesus Christ and sees the light of the gospel, everything else in the world dims in comparison to it. Nothing will ever shine brighter or be more loving than the gospel of Jesus Christ because He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the Lord of lords and the King of kings (Revelation 19:16). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
