Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).

Satan, also known as The Father of Lies, works day and night to keep lost souls from obtaining salvation in Christ. Just as it was in the garden with Adam and Eve, Satan’s goal is to get us to doubt God's Word and goodness for our lives. Satan’s biggest deception is found in countless false religions that are based on self-merit and earning salvation through human achievement, rather than salvation being a free gift by God’s grace. Christianity is the only religion in the entire world where salvation is by God’s divine grace. All the rest are salvation by human achievement. Satan’s deception infiltrates the church too and includes false teachers who teach half-truths, heresies, and twist Scripture; worldly preachers with only “feel good’ messages that stroke our egos, watered-down gospels, health, wealth, and prosperity gospels, and cheap grace/easy-believism Christianity, all masquerading as the Truth. For no wonder, even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Satan also tries to get us to doubt the clarity of Scripture: to think that there are “many right ways” to interpret God’s Word and that it’s open to personal interpretation. This massive lie, popular among the masses, creates confusion and unbelief, aiming to lead people astray from what God means in His Word. Satan’s goal is to divide, separate, and destroy God’s Truth from people. "Satan’s greatest weapon is man’s ignorance of God’s Word." – A.W. Tozer

Our God is not a God of confusion, and His Word is not cryptic. The Bible is not a riddle. He gave us His Word for us to gain understanding and grow in wisdom, not to be confused. He is a God of peace and clarity. God’s Word is clear because God is light, and God’s light is meant to give us all eyes to see. The only right people have to interpret Scripture is the right that carries with it the responsibility to interpret it accurately. God has not given us His Word to be confused or so that we can make a reasoned evaluation of His judgment and decide whether or not we want to obey. He has given us His Word because His Word is Truth and Life, and we are to trust it and obey it with confidence and peace in our hearts.
