  • True Faith Obeys

Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. Psalm 128:1 Dear Lord Jesus, We know that faith obeys because faith believes God is wise; that God is kind; that God is all-knowing; that God is loving; that God’s plan is undoubtedly better than ours. Faith also believes that God is utterly terrifying to stand before if having rebelled against Him – if having chosen to serve self in this life, over Christ. Lord, may you give us the grace through our faith to live upright, balanced lives in line with the Truth. May we abide in Your Word through our faith, and so prove to be Your true disciples. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Be not wise in your own eyes, fear the LORD, and turn away from evil (Proverbs 3:5-7). True Saving Faith Creates Obedience of the Heart Faith and repentance are two sides of the same coin. What Adam and Eve did in the garden was the opposite of repentance. They changed their mind about God, turned away from Him, turned to themselves, and chose their own path because they didn’t trust His Word. They disobeyed God. They thought they knew better than God. The very first act of disobedience this world ever knew, stemmed from doubting God’s Word by judging God’s righteousness and authority; by doubting the goodness and kindness of God and His will for their lives. Did God really say, `You must not eat from any tree in the garden? (Genesis 3:1). We must believe God means exactly what He says through His Word. The God of the Bible is not a hidden God of mystery, and the knowledge of God is not a mystical experience, an inner knowing, or a vision of the divine. The real God of the universe makes Himself clearly known in Scripture to those who desire to know Him, and His commandments are loud and clear to those who desire to obey Him. Blessed are those who truly hear Him. Cursed are those who walk in darkness; in their own pride and ignorance through their lack of knowledge and desire to know the one true God. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to their hardness of heart (Ephesians 4:18). God's Word Never Changes The interpretation of the Bible does not progress along with this ever-changing culture but remains fixed in truth and infallibility from the beginning of time. As this becomes even more prevalent in this generation, good is considered evil, and evil is considered moral and righteous. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter (Isaiah 5:20). People’s glory is now in their shame where they’re even praised and celebrated for their sinful deeds, pride and self-righteousness, and grave offenses to God through godless media. And those who stand strong on convictions are now considered narrow-minded, uncompassionate, and even hateful. Yet, the Word of God is all about convictions; it’s about right and wrong. It’s about the Truth. It is the Truth. We must hold fast to what never changes, and that’s God and His Word. True saving faith takes hold of what God says, it obeys Him, and it perseveres until the very end. The true Christian life is a battle. Our faith is proven true through our obedience to His Word as we fight against the flesh daily. Taking up our crosses and denying self for the fleeting time we have here on earth - is sure worth the gift of eternal life. (Check out “Pilgrim’s Progress” by John Bunyan) The Bible is not for us to cherry pick what we’d like to obey. The Word of God is not open to interpretation based on our own ignorance, personal preferences, standards, relative truths, or the current culture we live in. The Bible is not “What does this passage mean to me in 2021?” The Bible is “What does this passage mean so that I may lovingly obey God in His Word and so prove to be His disciple? (Because I believe in Him)!” “The Word of God is not a puzzle. It does not speak in riddles. It is not cryptic or mysterious. It is plain and obvious to those who have spiritual ears to hear.” - John MacArthur True Disciples Abide in His Word True saving faith is obedience to God’s command to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and our faith is proven when we truly submit to Him as Lord. Although we will often stumble, we will continue to war against our flesh and grow in holiness over time (through sanctification) because faith obeys through the power of the Holy Spirit that has been poured into our hearts. Obedience means we hunger and thirst for righteousness because the Spirit is in us, leading us to desire that. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:5). Obedience means we desire that which is holy through our conviction of the Truth. We know the only thing that can save us from being slaves to sin is becoming slaves of righteousness – and this is done by taking hold of the Truth of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free (John 8:31-32). If you abide in His word that means you live in His Word through the power of the Holy Spirit that is at work within you. You stay in His Word, even though you may fall at times. You don’t just read it, hear it, and obey it willy-nilly according to your own wisdom. Instead, you trust God's divine wisdom and believe exactly what He says in His Word. You live it because You love it because your faith is so very true; it’s saving faith. Many think they can live willy-nilly and be saved by their own definitions of faith. They are only toying with their own eternal souls without knowing it. I warn you out of love and truth - Heaven will not be waiting for those who choose to take the broad, easy, and comfortable road in this life; due to their own pride, ignorance, self-deceit, or believing the lie of Satan that there’s an overflow of grace which allows for ongoing, unrepentant sin. Jesus said, "but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3). You are either a slave to sin or a slave to Christ. You must choose. No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other (Matthew 6:24). The Word of God should be what permeates your life, and I pray that light may shine brightly wherever you go for all to see. If you abide in His word, you are truly His disciple, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free… The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14 Love, Jenna “It has been supposed by many ill-instructed people that the doctrine of justification by faith is opposed to the teaching of good works, or obedience. There is no truth in the supposition. We preach the obedience of faith. Faith is the fountain, the foundation, and the fosterer of obedience. Men obey not God till’ they believe him. We preach faith in order that men may be brought to obedience. To disbelieve is to disobey. We do not give a secondary place to obedience, as some suppose. We look upon the obedience of the heart to the will of God as salvation. Obedience is the grand object of the work of grace in the hearts of those who are chosen and called.” - Charles H Spurgeon – Sermon No. 2195 August 21, 1890 Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. Psalm 128:1 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? James 2:14 Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:17-18 Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence. Proverbs 15:32 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Hebrews 10:26 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Romans 6:1-2 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. Romans 3:31 No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. 1 John 3:9 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what is says. James 1:22 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2:1 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

  • It is Grace

But by the grace of God I am what I am. And His grace towards me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God who is with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10 Dear Lord Jesus, Eternity won’t be long enough to give You the praise You deserve for giving me something I never deserved – Your saving grace. It is grace that gives me breath. It is grace that draws me to You. It is grace that saves me. It is grace that gifted me with my faith to be saved. It is grace that helps me understand and love Your Word. It is grace that gives me the wisdom to grow in it. It is grace that gives me the power to resist the devil. It is grace that creates an obedient heart in me through faith. It is grace that humbles me. It is grace that gives me gentleness and self-control. It is grace that helps me be a good listener. It is grace that makes me be a cheerful giver. It is grace that helps me lead with zeal. It is grace that helps me love and care for others. It is grace that strengthens my faith in uncertainty. It is grace that helps me endure trials and suffering with hope. It is grace that gives me joy in the midst of them. It is grace that sanctifies me and grows me in holiness, slowly but surely. It is grace that gives me the courage to boldly speak the Truth. It is grace that gives me the patience to meet people where they’re at with the Truth. It is grace that makes me care that the world hears the Truth. It is grace that makes me not care what the world thinks of me when I speak the Truth. It is grace that helps me live for an audience of One. It is grace that helps me do Your will, submit to You, live for You, and love You. Apart from You Lord, I can do nothing. And without Your Hand on me touching me with Your grace, I have nothing in me good to offer. Every good thing I do is only by Your grace. This is why grace is called the surpassing grace of God in you. 2 Corinthians 9:14 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power has been made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses knowing that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21 When I have You Jesus, I have everything I’ll ever need, in this life and in the glorious one to come. Your grace is sufficient. Your grace has saved me. What more could I ever want when I have You? All glory belongs to You, my Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Love, Jenna

  • Satan's Deception

Test the spirits beloved to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 1:4 Dear Lord Jesus, We thank You for Your almighty protection from the evil one. With You Lord, we are safe. May we cling to You as we trust in Your unfailing love and saving grace. We know that evil things are hardly ever disguised as evil. Many times, evil things appear to us as beautiful, enticing, or even safe. In Scripture, Satan is called the Father of Lies and described as an angel of light. It’s sometimes hard to recognize all of Satan’s lies, but we praise You for Your light and truth that help us see clearly. Lord, we ask that You continue to help us discern between right and almost right. Protection from Satan – The Father of Lies Satan has layers upon layers of deception out there, and he works day and night to keep people from the full knowledge and truth of Jesus Christ. Just as it was in the garden, Satan’s main goal is to misrepresent God. As the Father of Lies he’s been deceiving people for centuries, and he knows what he’s doing. To be vigilant and on guard is to be a responsible Christian. Along with the lies of sin, Satan’s deception includes false teachers with half-truths and twisted Scripture; worldly-minded preachers with only soft, “feel good” messages that stroke our egos; watered-down or distorted gospels; and lukewarm, superficial Christianity - all masquerading as the Truth. Another one of Satan’s lies is to get us to doubt the clarity of sacred Scripture; to think that there are many “right ways” to interpret Scripture. This lie creates confusion, aiming to lead people astray from what God means in His Word. There may be many different human applications to one given text, but there is only one meaning that God gives it. Satan casts doubt and confusion about the clarity of Scripture to divide, separate, and even destroy God’s Truth from people. Satan’s greatest weapon is man’s ignorance of God’s Word. – A.W. Tozer. Our God is not a God of confusion. He is a God of peace and understanding. God’s Word is clear because God is light, and God’s light is meant to give us all eyes to see. The only right people have to interpret Scripture is the right that carries with it the responsibility to interpret it accurately. God has not given us His Word to be confused or so that we can make a reasoned evaluation of His judgment and decide whether or not we want to obey. He has given us His Word because that Word is Truth and Life, and we are to trust it and obey it with confidence and peace in our hearts. Lord, we ask that you bless us with more of Your wisdom and knowledge every day, and please help us to discern between right and almost right. May we navigate this world with eyes wide open, clinging to You in all Your light, truth, and love. Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 115:105). The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen. 1 Corinthians 16:23-24 Love, Jenna Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 The Word of God is like a lion. You don’t have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose and the lion will defend itself. - Charles Spurgeon Where God has put a period, the Devil puts a question mark, casting doubt. - Steven Lawson See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:8 Satan continues his efforts to make sin less offensive, hell less real, and the gospel less urgent. – John MacArthur The most important thing to know is the will of God. And the will of God is the Word of God. – Dr. J Vernon Mcgee

  • The True Gospel of Jesus Christ

For I am not ashamed of the gospel because I know it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes; first to the Jew then to the Gentile. Romans 1:16 Counterfeit Christianity Versus The Real Thing Far too often Jesus Christ and Christianity are being distorted, and so many people reject a Jesus or Christianity that is not even a true version of it. There are so many people who don’t understand who Jesus Christ truly is or what He has done for us. If only those people could understand what real Christianity is and what the gospel of Jesus Christ truly means; so that if they do end up rejecting it, at least they know in truth what they’re choosing to reject. Or if they decide to accept it, at least they’re accepting the true version of Jesus and Christianity - and not one of its many shiny counterfeits that aims to lead people astray and trap them through worldly desires, masquerading as the Truth.. ..which is Satan’s ultimate goal in this world. The Father of Lies works so hard to steer people away from the one true God, away from their salvation - through half truths, lies, and deceit of counterfeit religion, human merit and achievement, and the endless chasing of self-love and self-sufficiency. I love being a vessel of God and sharing the true gospel of Jesus Christ for others to hear. And it's only by the power of the Holy Spirit working in you that people can be brought to faith where the eyes of their hearts are enlightened to the Truth. In the end, those who are truly meant to hear and receive the Word of God, will so, only by the power of God. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27) All glory belongs to God - for this is His story, not ours. But by His grace, we are a part of it. Here is an eight minute video of one of my favorite pastors, Paul Washer, on sharing the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. I encourage you to watch it, and may the grace of God help you truly hear it. Love, Jenna

  • One of the Biggest Mistakes We Make

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24 Only God is Good One of the biggest mistakes we make is thinking God is like us. Often times we form God into a god of our own imagination; a god who we are comfortable with; a god who doesn’t punish sin or send people to hell; a god who is all love, leaving no room for His justice or His sovereignty, cheapening His love. And many out there think we can earn our salvation through our own “good works” by believing that we are actually good, based on our own personal standards and definitions of what we believe good to be. And also by being self-righteous and comparing ourselves to others whom we think are not as "good" as we are - which gives us a false sense of being good ourselves through our own relative truths. On the other side, we will not be judged based upon our own standards or the world's standards, but by the standards of the Holy God of the universe. The real truth is there has only been one good person in this world, and that is the person of Jesus Christ. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We first must recognize that we are all sinners. We are depraved, fallen, and utterly dependent on God; whether we like that or not, and whether we are able to humble ourselves to that truth or not. Although we’d like to think so for the sake of pride, mankind does not possess some high value of dignity, esteem, or righteousness through our own human merit or achievement. There’s not one single one of us who does. And even if we did, it could never come close to the standard of that which is the Holy God of the universe. Even our most noble gestures and our most righteous acts are filthy rags to God. (Isaiah 64:6.) - which brings me to my second point: God is holy, meaning He's set apart from us. Furthermore, Holy means that He’s perfectly moral, perfectly righteous, perfectly just, perfectly good. There’s not a tiny blemish nor a stitch of evil anywhere in God. His purity and perfection go way beyond what we could ever begin to grasp. If we don’t first understand this tremendous gap and incomprehensible gulf between man and God, we don’t understand the gospel of Jesus Christ and why it is such tremendously good news to us. The Truth Offends, But The Truth Saves The gospel is the only thing that saves, so we must get the gospel right. The Truth is offensive, but it's the only thing that saves, and unfortunately far too many are blinded by the god of this world (Satan). I am not popular by any means by proclaiming the Gospel Truth of Jesus Christ. In fact, I’m likely hated for it, but I'm not trying to be liked by the world. I care about people's souls. The thing is, I believe whole-heartedly in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I am driven to share the Truth with as many people as I can in this short life - because it is God's will for all Christians and because I love people. I have sincere concern and sadness for people who don't know that they don't know. The thing is, if you love people, you warn them when they’re inside a burning building - while they still have the opportunity to get out. I encourage you to open the Bible for yourself (and by the grace of God) come to the full knowledge and Truth of the real God of the universe while you still can in this life. Life is short, but eternity - that's for a very long time. It is only reasonable that this short life be lived in the light of eternity. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 Love, Jenna I highly encourage you to check out this trailer to learn who God is: American Gospel: Christ Crucified. It's an excellent documentary and very well done. as it is written: None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. Romans 3:10-12 Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55:6 They are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. Romans 10:2-3

  • What is True Saving Faith?

And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' Acts 2:38 Dear Lord Jesus, May we all be blessings to one another, sharing the Truth in boldness and in love, and encouraging each other to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord, I ask that You may give us the grace to repent of our sins; turn from our own ways, and turn to You, Jesus. May we obey You because we love You: The Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). True Saving Faith Must Have Repentance Christians will still sin every day in this broken world, but true saving faith means we repent and fully surrender ourselves to Christ, sincerely trusting in Him. Repentance is not a work we do to earn heaven. Repentance starts with a change of mind that brings us in line with the Truth; where we realize how wretched, poor, blind, and naked we are, and utterly dependent on God for everything. Those who truly believe, repent, and those who repent are saved. In Scripture, repentance and faith are two sides of the same coin. True repentance happens when we’re confronted by the gospel and what Christ did for us on the cross, where we rethink everything. We rethink who we are and if we’re really as good, rich, deserving of eternal life, and ready for death as we once thought. True repentance humbles us and goes hand in hand with brokenness. There is no such thing as boasting in true repentance. Repentance starts with a change of mind and heart, where a change of actions and a change of life follows. You will follow what you are convicted of. I pray that we all are so convicted of the Truth and unashamed of the gospel that we all repent of our sins and follow boldly after You, Lord – our only hope and our only way to eternal life. Having repentance is turning away from our sins, often found in our own pride and self-sufficiency; it’s turning away from worldly comforts and idols that we often cling to and put before Christ; and it’s turning to God in humility and trusting obedience to do His will, not ours. Many times in the New Testament, Jesus commands us to repent. Repent and believe in the gospel! (Mark 1:15) See also (Mat. 4:17), (Luke 5:32). Jesus also said, Unless you repent you will all likewise perish (Luke 13:3). Repentance is absolutely necessary for salvation. All the Graces of Christianity Flow Together We know we cannot earn our salvation by works, and we know that we are saved by grace through faith, but faith that does not bear evidence of good fruit - is dead. Scripture connects bearing good fruit to repentance and obedience, while bearing bad fruit is connected to selfishness, sin, and immoral behavior. Jesus said, Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven (Matthew 7:20–21). True saving faith causes us to be sensitive to sin and instills in us a real desire to obey Christ. Furthermore, faith produces love, and love produces good fruits. Jesus connects these good fruits with obedience and keeping His commandments, and having love in our hearts. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples (John 15:8). If you love me, you will keep my commandments (John 14:15). True saving faith is building a life on what God says in His word. Having faith is not just a deep feeling or an inner knowing based on our own human wisdom, it is not just a mental affirmation of Christ’s existence, it is not just an assent to the truth, but true saving faith must include repentance and a real desire to obey the Word of God and follow Christ over ourselves. Obedience to Christ is love, and love for Christ is obedience. Faith fills our hearts with love and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Where there is genuine faith in Jesus Christ there is also a genuine transformation of the heart. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 1 Thessalonians 5:28 Love, Jenna All the graces of Christianity always go together. Where there is one, the rest follow. Where there is faith, there is love, hope, and humility, and where there is love there is also trust; and where there is a holy trust in God, there is love to God; and where there is gracious hope, there also is a holy fear of God. - Jonathan Edwards in “Charity and Its Fruits" Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold guiltless anyone who takes his name in vain. Exodus 20:7 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says, “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:3-4 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:17 And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:31-32

  • Joy is a Command that We Must Obey! :)

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4 Dear Lord, We praise You for the joy and the blessings that You give us! Joy in the life of a Christian is a testimony to the world. The joy we experience in Christ shines like a beautiful light for others to see. Describing the joy we have as Christians is a wonderful way to open the conversation to share the gospel. Lord, please help us to plant seeds of truth in others - through our joy in You. Joy is not icing on the cake but an essential ingredient in our lives. If joy is essential, then it must mean that joy is possible. Joy is not optional either. We are commanded over 30 times in the Bible to rejoice! So, living a life of worry, stress, anger, or bitterness violates that command. Although we may go through seasons of life where we feel sorrow, those seasons shouldn’t overcome us as Christians. And even through our sufferings, we know there is always a joy to be discovered in the deep reservoirs of Christ. Although there will be many times when we are tempted to worry, feel resentment or anger, we cannot let these feelings define our lives - because we are Christians. And as Christians we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, with joy being one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Lord, we ask that you help us rejoice always because we already have everything we will ever need in this life and in the one to come – We have You, Jesus. All glory belongs to You, My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! In Jesus’ Name, I pray Amen. Love, Jenna

  • Mercy Triumphs Over Judgment

Blessed are the merciful for they shall be shown mercy. Matthew 5:7 Dear Lord, You are such a loving God full of mercy and grace! I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins – past, present, and future - through Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. I praise You for blessing me in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:3) Your mercies are new every morning, Your grace is sufficient, and Your love is steadfast. Lord, You save me from the judgment that I do deserve, and You shower me with blessings I don’t deserve. And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:1-7) I praise You for Your infinite mercy that flows from Your infinite love. Thank You for Your compassion on sinners like me. Lord, I ask that you give me the grace to be merciful towards others, as You have been merciful to me. Lord, please also help me share with others how merciful and loving You are so that they might come to know You too and trust You as their Lord and Savior. All glory belongs to You, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name, I pray amen. Love, Jenna For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:13 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

  • The Good News

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound for us, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Dear Lord, I praise You for being a God so full of compassion and comfort. I pray that You help me to always look to You in obedience, doing Your will and trusting You with everything. Every time I mess up, please help me to run right back into Your merciful arms, confessing my sins to You and repenting. How I praise You for your endless mercy, rooted in Your infinite love for me! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most comforting thing in the world to us as Christians. It’s the best news known to mankind; the greatest hope imaginable; the supreme promise of perfect peace to all who believe. The gospel is the Truth, and the Truth is the most loving thing there is! The Truth is Jesus Christ Himself. We all need the gospel. The gospel is not to make our lives more comfortable, but the gospel is to change us, to save us, and to bring to us a real sense of comfort in God Himself. Jesus Christ is not a means to easy or comfortable living, but He is our comfort. He is our joy. He is our hope. He is our peace. He is our everything. When we have Christ, we have everything we will ever need. Lord, please help me to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are still lost. I pray that You touch them with Your grace, soften their hearts, and open their eyes so that they may believe in You too and be saved. All glory belongs to You, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, I pray amen. Love, Jenna

  • The Mark of a True Christian

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 Dear Lord, I thank You for Your word and the treasure of truth I hold in my hands from the Holy Scriptures. I am blessed by the power that Your Word brings into my life by the Holy Spirit. The ability to hear and understand Your hidden wisdom is an incredible blessing, and knowledge is power. I love learning about You. We know the 1st book of John was written to give us solid assurance that we are true believers in Christ as we approach the Day of Judgement; so that we may approach that predestined time with joy, through fearlessness and a true confidence in our faith. One way we know that we are truly in the faith is that we love our brothers and sisters. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. By this, we know we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit (1 John 12-13). Whatever the outside deed is; however great, sacrificial, or significant it may be to the world, it is the inside of the deed that counts to You. You are able to see deep down into the depths of our hearts where our true intentions and motives are, and we cannot hide from You, Lord. We pray that the truth of our deeds comes from a place of love and humility and not from pride or selfish gain. Furthermore, we pray that You help us to recognize our own intentions and motives so that we may be humbled. May we continue to look to the person and the work of Jesus Christ for our only hope, and not ourselves or our own works. May we make all sacrifices for Your glory, and may the center of everything we do, be with love – love for You and love for others. We know that it’s the love in one’s heart that shows evidence of belonging to Christ. Faith promotes love, and love is the most effectual ingredient in a living faith. Love also promotes faith because we are more apt to trust in those whom we love. We put our trust in You Lord, and we love because You first loved us (1 John 4:19). May we be empowered by that love to accomplish all that you would have us do, and may it be love that helps drive us to share the gospel with others. The gospel produces faith, and faith produces love, and love produces good fruits which bears the evidence of a true Christian. Lord, help us learn more about You and Your holiness through Your Word. Also, help us to be more sensitive to our own fallenness and sin so that we may be quick to repent of it, turn from ourselves, and turn to You in faith, hope, and love. Lord, help us grow by reading Your Word and praying at all times to You. All glory belongs to You, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray amen. Love, Jenna
