  • The Mark of a True Christian

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 Dear Lord, I thank You for Your word and the treasure of truth I hold in my hands from the Holy Scriptures. I am blessed by the power that Your Word brings into my life by the Holy Spirit. The ability to hear and understand Your hidden wisdom is an incredible blessing, and knowledge is power. I love learning about You. We know the 1st book of John was written to give us solid assurance that we are true believers in Christ as we approach the Day of Judgement; so that we may approach that predestined time with joy, through fearlessness and a true confidence in our faith. One way we know that we are truly in the faith is that we love our brothers and sisters. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. By this, we know we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit (1 John 12-13). Whatever the outside deed is; however great, sacrificial, or significant it may be to the world, it is the inside of the deed that counts to You. You are able to see deep down into the depths of our hearts where our true intentions and motives are, and we cannot hide from You, Lord. We pray that the truth of our deeds comes from a place of love and humility and not from pride or selfish gain. Furthermore, we pray that You help us to recognize our own intentions and motives so that we may be humbled. May we continue to look to the person and the work of Jesus Christ for our only hope, and not ourselves or our own works. May we make all sacrifices for Your glory, and may the center of everything we do, be with love – love for You and love for others. We know that it’s the love in one’s heart that shows evidence of belonging to Christ. Faith promotes love, and love is the most effectual ingredient in a living faith. Love also promotes faith because we are more apt to trust in those whom we love. We put our trust in You Lord, and we love because You first loved us (1 John 4:19). May we be empowered by that love to accomplish all that you would have us do, and may it be love that helps drive us to share the gospel with others. The gospel produces faith, and faith produces love, and love produces good fruits which bears the evidence of a true Christian. Lord, help us learn more about You and Your holiness through Your Word. Also, help us to be more sensitive to our own fallenness and sin so that we may be quick to repent of it, turn from ourselves, and turn to You in faith, hope, and love. Lord, help us grow by reading Your Word and praying at all times to You. All glory belongs to You, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray amen. Love, Jenna

  • The Lord is My Shepherd

And do not be grieved, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10 Dear Lord, I thank you for being a loving God, a God of infinite mercy. You are my Shepherd. You guide me with Your loving kindness, and You bless me and strengthen me with Your grace. The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and Your staff; they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23) Thank You for guiding me, strengthening and comforting me in difficult times, and blessing me through my weaknesses. The joy of the Lord is my strength! I thank You for the bright days, as well as the days in which I may suffer – it’s all for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray Amen. Love, Jenna

  • Where Are You Spending Eternity?

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55:6 Dear Lord, We thank You and praise You for another day! Each and every day is a blessing. With the many blessings You shower on us, the greatest blessing of them all is the gift of eternal life with You. That is the grace of all graces, and we will spend an eternity praising You for it. I pray that more people are able to see the light of the gospel so that they too can become part of Your kingdom and receive that glorious blessing. There are people in our lives whom we love who do not yet know Jesus. They are in desperate need of Christ, and it's difficult because they simply don’t know that they don’t know. Many are blinded by Satan, and their hearts are hardened against the Truth. I pray that You help us to fearlessly share the gospel with those people we love, as well as with strangers, when given the golden opportunity to do so by You. Lord, we ask You to please soften their hearts and open their spiritual eyes and ears to hear the word of Christ, in order to fully receive it. We know that true faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by Your Word. But we also know that it’s only by Your grace that people are able to come to the knowledge of the Truth, where they love the Truth and desire to obey it. Please help those who are spiritually blind - to see, Lord. In order for people to understand why the gospel is such tremendously good news to them, we must first be made aware of our own sinful nature and how we all are in great need of a Savior in Christ. We must also understand the incomprehensible gulf that’s between fallen mankind and the absolute holiness and purity of God. There are no "good" people based upon God's standards. The truth is there has only been one good person to walk this earth, and that is the person of Jesus Christ. He was sinless, absolute perfection. But us, we are fallen, far from perfect. We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. I pray that we all may be utterly humbled - in comparison to the greatness of God, but even more so to His loveliness. I pray that the certainty of the gospel and the love that we have for people helps drive us to warn people and to share it with those in need. Now is the time to seek the Lord when we still can. His arms are still outstretched to us in this world, which will be over in the blink of an eye compared to the magnitude of eternity. I pray that the eyes of those hearts be opened to the Truth before the door shuts forever. Lord, we know that we can’t save anybody. Preaching is the sacrament of salvation, but only You do the saving. In the end, salvation is the sovereign work of God. But part of Your sovereign plan includes the preaching of the gospel and prayer duty that we as Your children are all called to do for the building of Your kingdom. It is our assigned duty in this life and the will of God to pray for others and to share the gospel with them. We ask that You help us with this magnificent calling on our lives so that we may be a blessing to others, all for Your glory. I pray that You grace us with love, courage, and strength to share the gospel boldly, in loving Truth, even though we know the Truth is likely to offend. We also know the Truth is the only thing that saves. Let’s have faith over fear, and let’s be driven by the certainty of the Gospel Truth and the love in our hearts to share the light of Jesus Christ. All glory belongs to Your, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Name, I pray Amen. Love, Jenna The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel, which is the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:13-16

  • The Grace of All Graces

In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace. Ephesians 1:5-6 Dear Lord, I praise You for Your amazing grace. When I think deeply about the truth of eternal realities, it is just overwhelming and stunning in every sense of the word. We aren't just free falling in the dark of this world, rather we are sons and daughters of God, heading for glory in Your light. You have existed throughout all of eternity, and as long as You have been God, You have loved us. And You will love us unto glory and forevermore. It was that eternal love that You have always had for us that made You choose us. The adoption into Your kingdom is the highest privilege the gospel offers. You can’t get any higher than to be a son or daughter of God eternally, and one whom Jesus will call brother and sister. It’s an unspeakable, incomprehensible blessing to be granted spiritual life, to be freed from sin, and to be declared righteous in your Son, Jesus Christ. This kind of blessing given to me, just staggers the imagination and leaves me in wonder and awe of You. It truly is the grace of all graces. For this I worship You, I praise You, and I thank You for this first and greatest blessing of being chosen by You to belong to Your awesome Kingdom. Please help me be bold and unafraid to share the gospel when opportunity arises; so that I may help others see the glory of Your Kingdom too by You grace. All honor and glory belong to You, Lord. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Love, Jenna

  • My True Identity

You did not choose me, but I chose you. John 15:16 Dear Lord, I thank You for creating me, and I praise You for choosing me before the foundation of the world! What a precious gift it is to be a child of God. There is no greater identity than to be in Christ. There is no higher calling than to be a worker in Your Kingdom. There is nothing more magnificent than to be given eternal life - by the gift of your amazing grace - through faith in Christ. I deserve nothing. Actually, I deserve death and hell, and yet, You have given me everything I could ever want and need through Your Son, Jesus Christ. You have given me life, eternal life. You are so full of grace and mercy, and I thank You for everything that I have, including my sufferings; for I know You have great purpose in them. I know they are to strengthen my faith and bring me closer to You. I know my aches and pains that are of this present time are light and fleeting, even at their worst, compared to the weight of glory that outweighs them all. What I may endure on earth for my very short time here is not worth comparing with the glory that awaits me for an eternity. Knowing the inheritance that lies ahead, makes me enjoy living in the moment 100 times more. Being in Christ fills me with such immense purpose, and no matter how dim this world can get, life is always bright in Him. I love being alive! I know You created me so that I may be a blessing throughout Your creation. You created me in Your image so that I may make Your presence known everywhere I go, all for Your glory. You created me so that I may be a blessing to others by serving and loving others. We love because You first loved us. As I continue to understand little by little the magnitude of Your love for me, I pray that the Holy Spirit stirs my heart so that I may love You and others more and more as I continue to grow more in Christ. I know it’s love that is the foundation of being a true Christian, and so I pray that I grow more in love every day for You, for my brothers and sisters in Christ, for all my neighbors, and for my enemies too. I truly hope my enemies find You Christ. I want them to be my brothers and sisters too. Please help them find You. Please help everyone find You. My ultimate prayer is that I want everyone to know Your name, to love Your name, to know Your love that You have for Your children, and to join me in Your kingdom. I wish for everyone to know Jesus. It hurts that not everyone does, but I trust You, God, in Your absolute righteousness, holiness, and sovereignty. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen. Love, Jenna But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. 1 Corinthians 6:17 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:4-6

  • Saved from Himself, by Himself, for Himself

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Dear Lord, Hallelujah! He is risen! There is nothing more precious, nothing more glorious, nothing more magnificent than the hope You have blessed me with - through the death and resurrection of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Christ is life itself! For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life! Romans 5:10 The more I study and find treasures in the Scriptures, the more I begin to comprehend Your profound grace and lavish gift of love to sinners like me. The more knowledge and wisdom I gain from Your Word, the more I am in awe and reverence of Your holiness, Your righteousness, Your justice, and Your infinite, perfect love....which I have not even begun to scratch the surface of Your glory. Eternity won't be long enough for me to comprehend the magnificence of Your glory! That means, the best is always yet to come! For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him (John 3:16-17). Lord, I know there was never a time where You did not exist. Before You ever made the world You already existed: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit has infinitely existed, and it is far beyond what my finite mind can even begin to grasp. What Scripture makes clear is that love has always been an attribute of Your nature. You didn’t become a God of love, but You have always been a God of love. And the object of Your affection has always been Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. You loved the world so much that You sent Your perfect, sinless, blameless Son to save a wretched sinner like me. The love that You have is so big, so tremendous, that it will take me all of eternity to understand. Lord, You saved me from Yourself, by Yourself, and for Yourself. You gave me an escape from death and a way to life, and that is through believing in Your Son by the gift of Your grace. The greatest evil that has ever occurred was used by You to bring about the greatest good imaginable – and that is the redemption of sinners all for Your glory. Everything, Lord, is all for Your glory! The gospel is not Jesus plus anything. The gospel is just Jesus. The gospel is not “What can I do?” The gospel is “Jesus has already done.” I pray that people abandon any and all hope in themselves and in their own works and human merit, and trust in the person and work of Christ alone. Hallelujah! He is risen! I want to glorify my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever and ever. Christ is life because God is love. In Jesus’ name I pray Amen. Love, Jenna

  • His Grace is Sufficient

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 Dear Lord, For I am weak, but You are strong. I thank You for blessing me through my weaknesses so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. That’s why for Christ’s sake I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties, for when I am weak then I am strong. I pray that You fill me with Your strength by putting the full armor of God on me so that I may stand strong against the schemes of the devil. For I know my struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of the evil one in the heavenly realms. When it is hard to pray, I know that is when I must pray to You the most. Help me pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests, including prayers for all of Your people. Help me pray when it is hard; when the evil one is lurking and scheming to lead me astray from You. Lord, please help me to always distinguish Your voice from the evil one. For I know Your voice stills me, leads me, reassures me, encourages me, enlightens me, comforts me, calms me, and convicts me. The devil’s voice rushes me, pushes me, frightens me, confuses me, discourages me, worries me, obsesses me, and condemns me. Without You I cannot beat the devil and his trickery, nor resist my own entices and desires that lead me into sin. But with You, I am safe as You lead me into paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Your rod and Your staff; they comfort me, and I thank You for protecting me. I know that prayer is an open door that no one can shut. Even if the devil surrounds me on all sides, the way upward to You is always open. Help me submit myself to you and resist the devil so that he will flee from me. I know if I draw near to You, You will always draw near to me. You are closer than the air I breathe. Lastly, I pray that You help me to confidently spread the light of the gospel, which is the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. I pray that when I go to speak, the Truth of God and the glory of the gospel comes out boldly for others to hear. And I know the rest is up to You; whoever is meant to receive the light of the gospel, You will softened their hearts and give them ears to hear. Let the light of Jesus Christ and the glorious hope that You have given to us through His death and resurrection - make the devil shrink away. Thank You for Your mighty protection and careful watch over me, Lord. You bless me with Your strength through Your grace. All glory belongs to You, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. Love, Jenna

  • Blessed Beyond Measure

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Dear Lord, I have sinned, I see my sin, and I confess my sins to You. I praise You for Your mercy that You have on me, for Your mercy triumphs over judgment. I pray that You deliver me from sin in all of its deceiving sweetness, as well as its bitterness underneath its mask. I pray for humility and meekness, and I ask for You to help me recognize when pride starts making its way into my heart and mind as it so easily does. Please keep me from being prideful and content with my own strength, my own ways, my own self, apart from You, Lord. Please help me from ever getting to the point where I think I have reached or can reach my own perfection through my own works and human merit without You. I can do nothing apart from You, my Lord. Search my heart O Lord, try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me to the way everlasting – to You. For you alone, Lord Jesus, is the way, the Truth, and the life. When things are shadow, You are substance; when things are shifting, You are firm; when things are quicksand, You are a rock; when things are blind and ignorant, You are wisdom and Truth. I praise You for loving me so much that You sent Your perfect Son, Jesus Christ, to die for my sins. You made Him who had no sin to be sin for me so that in Him I might become the righteousness of God. I praise You that through His resurrection I may have everlasting life by the gift of Your grace through faith. Jesus Christ is the most glorious hope that You have given to the world out of Your love, and I am immeasurably blessed to be in Christ, for He is life. Through Him, I have everything I will ever need - now and throughout all of eternity. Jesus is the greatest gift imaginable and the most glorious hope ever known. I pray that I am able to be an honorable, humble, and gentle vessel of Yours and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others so that they may have hope and joy through You too. I am so thankful to You my Lord that I do not have the words to express that depth of gratitude and joy I feel in my heart for the everlasting life I have in Christ Jesus. I am blessed beyond measure all because of Your saving grace. All glory and honor belongs to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen. Love, Jenna

  • Saved By Grace

Giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20 Dear Lord, How I am in awe of Your abounding grace, mercy, and love. In while I was still a sinner, You sent Your Son, Lord Jesus, to die on the cross for my sins so that in Him I might become the righteousness of God. I thank You and praise You for Your unchanging, unfailing, and everlasting love. I pray that You help me come to a new and deeper understanding of what Your love truly means through studying Your Word and grasping the magnificence of the gospel. Through Your help in gaining this wisdom, I pray that I may image You more and more; that I may be a blessing to Your creation by loving and serving others while making Your glorious Name known, everywhere I go. Thank you for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die for my sins so that I may be saved by the gift of Your grace through faith. Thank you for everything You have given me and everything You have taken away. It is all a gift, and I am truly blessed to be a child of God. All glory belongs to You, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen. Love, Jenna
